Cedar Valley Conservation Area is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m from November 1 to March 31 while it extends until 10:00 p.m from April 1 to October 31.

North Oshawa Park located at 1139 Mary St N, is a 7-minute drive away from Homeward Hills. There are so many activities you can do here. For sports enthusiasts, it has a basketball court, 5 outdoor tennis courts, and a soccer field to choose from. If you just wish to relax and have a quality bonding with your family, there’s a group picnic area that’s great for you. You can also relax under the Gazebo or under one of the many shade trees. Shawarma 401 also serves homemade food. Options like chicken, donair, falafel, vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, nut free food and etc. 

Many say that the restaurant serves large food portions for an affordable price and this is one of the many reasons that it gathers positive feedback online other than the amazing food itself.

New business hours this Winter season starts from 12 noon to 9:00 PM from Tuesdays to Saturdays and until 8:00 PM only on Sundays. The place is closed every Monday.

Delpark Homes Centre

Delpark Homes Centre, formerly Legends Centre, is located at 1661 Harmony Rd N. It’s just a 3-minute drive away from Homewards Hills. It’s a recreation centre with 4 ice pads, swimming pool with waterslide and lazy river, a large fitness facility & an indoor walking track.

Homeward Hills

Delpark is most visited by Hockey groups for their plays and practices. Among these groups are Scary Skate, KH Hockey Academy and Lights Out Skating Academy.

As per the owner of Scary Skate, Mary,  “The most fundamental skill in hockey is skating. You have to be able to move very fast with or without the puck. Backward skating, forward skating, when you shoot, pass and turn. In the skating game you need balance, agility, speed and technique. It’s the fastest game on ice.” 

If you wish to know the basics of Hockey, the Scary Skate Team, a group of energized, well-educated, highly motivating and knowledgeable professional instructors and staff organized a power skating program. They’ll teach you the basics of Hockey. The group visits and conducts the training in Delpark Homes Center often.

Delpark Homes Centre is open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m every Monday to Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m every Saturday and Sunday

Parkwood Estate 

Parkwood Estate features formal gardens and a bowling alley. This neoclassical mansion was built in 1917 Inspired by Beaux-Arts design. This National Historic Site mansion, is a 15,000 square foot with 55-rooms with well-preserved art, architecture, gardens, landscaping and original furnishings. 

Parkwood Estate is actually the home of the late R.S. McLaughlin, Canadian auto baron and founder of General Motors of Canada and is located at 270 Simcoe St N. 

During Summer Season (June 1-Labour Day), the mansion operates 7 days a week from 10:30am-5:00pm, while during Winter Season (Labour Day-June 1), it’s open from Tuesday-Sunday only from 1:00pm-4:30pm.

The Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens

One of the tourist attractions in Oshawa is the Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens. It is known for its seasonal display of peonies, flowers that are native to Asia, Europe and Western North America. The park also has waterfalls & walking paths.

It’s located at 155 Arena St, just a 14-minute drive from Homeward Hills. The gardens are stunning throughout the summer, with each week revealing something new in the gardens and natural surroundings. 

The park is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m for April 1 to October 31 and closes early at 6 p.m from November 1 to March 31.

Dagmar Ski Resort is located at 1220 Lake Ridge Rd, Uxbridge, a 18-minute drive away from Homeward Hills. Here, you can experience Skiing and Snowboarding with your family. It does have 4 terrain parks, 18 runs, 6 lifts and lovely chalet.

Dagmar Ski resort’s operating hours change as per management’s discretion so it’s best to always check their Facebook page or call before driving out.

Oshawa GO Station 

Oshawa GO Station located at 915 Bloor Street West, is the terminal station for GO Transit’s  Lakeshore East line. It also serves Via Rail’s Corridor service travelling from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal. It is a station for commuter and passenger rail also for regional bus services in Oshawa. The bus terminal is served by bus routes of GO Transit and Durham Region Transit.

Oshawa GO Station has 1 island platform for GO Train, 1 island and 1 side for Via Rail. It’s just 15 minutes drive away from Homeward Hills.
